  • Bombay Teachers’ Training College has always been concerned with conservation of environment. Under the able guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Mintu Sinha we organized a UGC Sponsored National Conference on Environmental Ethics. The conference was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of University of Mumbai, Dr. Vijay Khole who also gave the key note address. He very rightly emphasized that “development of a country is essential, as India is progressing country. What one needs to do is to create a balance between the development and the environment in such a way that we can sustain our environment”. The Chief Guest for this conference was Hon’ble Minister of Environment, Excise and Labour Shri Ganesh Naik.

    It was a two day conference in which eminent personalities from the various areas were invited for the panel discussion. The panel comprised of Mr. Bijan Mishra [Reliance Energy], Cmdr Sabu Mathew [Tata Consultancy Services], Mr. Anil Desai [DSP Marylyn Lynch], Dr. Ram Mashewari [ Times of India Group], Mr. Adolf D’souza [Corporator – Juhu], Mr. Prahalad Kakkar [ Ad Film maker], Dr.D.J. Singh [Dean of Punjab Police Academy], Mrs. Farzana Dohadwala [ IB Regional Representative – South Asia], Mr. Anil Agnihotri [ONGC – Delhi] Ms. Deepa Kolwalkar [Tata Consultancy Services] , Dr.S. Rao [Principal of Khandesh College of Edcation-Jalgaon], Dr. Frazer Mascarenhas [Principal of St.Xaviers’ College- Mumbai], Dr.S.Anand [Ex Principal of National College –Mumbai] and Dr. Savia Veigas [Journalist].

    We received an overwhelming response as there were over 175 participants out of which nearly 50 of them presented papers.

  • Annual Day on 7th April. Mrs Priya dutt,MP was the chief guest and Dr. Andhale, Joint Director, Higher Education is the guest of honour.
